This course enables participants to learn about and experiment with Socratic Method and other forms of applied inquiry, critical thinking, and facilitated discussion.


By the end of this course, learners will be able to:  

  • Recognize that all thoughts, comments, and decisions are predicated on underlying and often unconscious assumptions, perspectives, and implications
  • Utilize a series of questions to solicit contrarian perspectives, uncover obscured information, and probe for deeper meaning
  • Facilitate dialog that promotes a higher level of understanding by isolating and examining what is rather than jumping to conclusions about what is not
  • Make more effective decisions by objectively assessing situations and drawing educated and accurate conclusions
